Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Why does Dadnab sometimes reply with more than one text message?

Most carriers and phones support no more than 160 characters per text message, so Dadnab breaks longer replies into multiple messages.

  • Why does Dadnab sometimes reply with trip or location information for different locations than I requested?

Dadnab relies on transit authority databases for its information. The databases do not always recognize the locations in your requests. Dadnab tries to find the closest match, but sometimes it guesses locations you did not intend. You can usually rephrase the location in a way that the transit authority database will recognize.

  • Why did Dadnab not understand my request?

If you are having trouble getting Dadnab to understand your requests, please format your requests according to the instructions. Let us know if you are still having trouble.

  • It takes me a long time to compose my Dadnab requests as text messages. What can I do to make it easier?

Most phones allow you to set up predefined text that you can insert into any text message. You can enter the origins and destinations you frequently visit as predefined text.

  • Does Dadnab still let me send queries to an e-mail address?

Yes. Originally, you had to send a text message to an e-mail address. Now, you can send a text message to the phone number for your region, but we still support the e-mail addresses, also.
